Foundation Weekend is a two-day community event that brings Douglas County together to serve families, celebrate wellness, and launch our youth mentorship program.
Saturday, June 07:
• A 5K run/walk with milestones representing one of the 8 dimensions of holistic wellness
• A back-to-school blessing providing backpacks, school supplies, and services to 150+ kids in need
• Community, connection, and shared purpose
Every family in Douglas County deserves support. Every child deserves a strong foundation. Foundation Weekend is how we make that happen — together.

What's Included: Race bib, participant t-shirt, finisher medal, post-race refreshments, and the satisfaction of changing lives in Douglas County.
On Event Day: Local athletes, coaches, teachers, veterans, and community leaders will be stationed at each mile to cheer you on and share what each foundation means to them.

After the run/walk on Saturday morning, our Backpack Blessing station opens for Douglas County families in need. Here's what we provide:
✓ Brand-new backpack filled with grade-appropriate school supplies
✓ Socks and basic clothing items
✓ A handwritten note of encouragement from a volunteer
✓ Optional services: Free haircuts, shoe fittings, family photos, and resource connections
Our Goal: Serve 150 kids in Year 1
No paperwork. No proof of need. No judgment. Just dignified support for families who could use a helping hand.
$50 sponsors one complete backpack blessing for one child
The 8-mile course takes you through [describe terrain — trails, roads, parks]. It's suitable for all fitness levels. You can walk, run, or do a combination. There will be water stations every 2 miles and restroom access along the route.
